Used to repair small holes caused by tooth decay, fillings restore the structure and function of the affected natural tooth.

Also known as caps, crowns are custom-made covers that encase damaged or weakened teeth, providing strength, protection, and improved denture aesthetics.

These denture prosthetics the gap created by one or more missing teeth, anchoring to adjacent teeth or dental implants for support.

Titanium posts are surgically implanted into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots, providing a stable foundation for teeth implants

Teeth bonding is a versatile cosmetic dental procedure that can address various aesthetic concerns such as chipped, cracked, discoloured, or misaligned teeth. During the bonding process, a tooth-coloured composite resin is applied to the tooth’s surface and sculpted to achieve the desired shape and appearance. This resin is then hardened with a special light, bonding it to the tooth and seamlessly blending with the natural enamel. At Brentwood Smiles, our experienced dental professionals utilise state-of-the-art techniques and materials to deliver exceptional results in teeth bonding procedures. Whether it’s fixing minor imperfections or completely transforming a smile, our team at Brentwood Smiles is dedicated to providing personalised care and helping patients achieve their desired dental goals. With teeth bonding, patients can enjoy a rejuvenated smile that looks natural, radiant, and youthful, boosting their confidence and overall dental health.

Teeth restoration

What is the process of teeth restoration?

Your path to your new smile starts with a consultation with our experienced dentist at Brentwood Smiles. They’ll start by examining your teeth thoroughly and design a personalised treatment plan unique to you.

Once the plan is set, we’ll begin the restoration process, whether it’s to replace missing teeth, tooth bonding or a crown.  It may include removing decay or damaged tissue, preparing the tooth, and placing the chosen restoration material, whether it’s a filling, crown, bridge, or implant. We’ll be by your side throughout the process, ensuring you understand each step and your procedure is done with precision and care.

Aftercare and maintenance

After we restore your smile, we’ll help you keep it healthy. You’ll have to remember to stick to good oral habits like brushing and flossing every day with fluoride toothpaste to prevent enamel loss and mouth cancer, and to visit the dentist for your check ups.

And be mindful of drinking sugary drinks or eating sugary foods and to chew sugar free gum to avoid dental problems like fillings, dental decay to existing teeth and stains.

When it comes to restoring your smile,  experience and expertise matter. Our qualified team at Brentwood Smiles is dedicated to providing you with the highest level of care and your dentist will ensure successful outcomes for your restoration journey.

Teeth restoration cost - is it worth it?

Are dental implants worth it? Your dentist understands the cost of teeth restoration for cosmetic reasons worries many patients, so they do provide budget-friendly options for a missing tooth or cost per tooth.

With some restorative procedures, the cost depends on a number of factors, such as the complexity of your treatment.  You may only require white fillings, a single implant or you may need several teeth replacing, but in many instances is a wise long-term investment in your oral health.

Dental implants may cost more at first than dentures or bridges, but they offer many advantages, such as:

A dental implant can last a lifetime with proper care, making them a cost-effective solution.

Implants look and feel natural, giving you a seamless smile.

Unlike dentures or bridges, implants stimulate bone growth and maintain jawbone integrity

Implants don’t require altering adjacent teeth, promoting better mouth hygiene and preventing enamel loss.

The cost of dental implants varies depending on factors like the number needed and procedure complexity. Keep in mind that additional costs like consultations, x-rays, or crown placement are separate.

Different age groups

Teeth restoration is applicable to individuals of all ages, from children to seniors. From fillings to a set of false teeth, our team has experience working with patients of all ages and can provide tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of each age group.

Our team is trained to address dental anxiety and help nervous patients, and will work with you to ensure a positive and stress-free experience.

Risks and complications

Although teeth restoration is usually safe and works well, it’s important to know there can be some risks and complications. Our team will explain any risks and do everything to keep them as low as possible, making sure you’re safe and happy during the process.

Understanding dental implants

Dental implants are titanium screws surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots. They provide a sturdy foundation for replacement teeth, offering a permanent solution for missing teeth.

Factors influencing teeth restoration costs

The complexity of the restoration procedure, including the number of teeth involved, the extent of damage, and any additional treatments required, can significantly impact the overall cost.

Dental fees vary depending on the geographic location and the cost of living in that area. Urban areas and regions with higher demand for dental services may have higher prices.

The experience and expertise of the dentist performing the procedure can influence the cost. Dentists with specialised training or a special interest in cosmetic dentistry may charge higher fees for their services.

Fixed bridge for replacing missing teeth

If you have just one or more missing teeth, a fixed bridge offers an excellent solution. This dental restoration consists of artificial teeth attached to natural surrounding teeth or dental implants, effectively “bridging” the gap caused by missing teeth.

Fixed bridges restore functionality and aesthetics, allowing patients to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.

Dental implant for a natural looking option

When it comes to having a tooth replaced, a dental implant or tooth implants stand out as a highly durable and natural-looking option.

Implants are metal posts put into your jawbone to act as fake tooth roots. When they join with the bone, they become a strong base for artificial teeth, giving you comfort and making your teeth work well.

crowns and bridges

Implant treatment for decayed teeth to restore mouth health

Implant treatment replaces teeth that are decayed to improve mouth health. It’s a good option for severely damaged teeth. By using multiple implants, patients can restore oral health and stop further decay. This treatment also protects nearby teeth and prevents enamel loss, ensuring a healthy smile in the long run.

Porcelain Restorations

Porcelain restorations like crowns and veneers look better and last longer than traditional materials. They’re made to look just like natural tooth enamel and blend in perfectly with your other teeth, giving you a beautiful smile. Whether you need one tooth fixed or a whole mouth makeover, porcelain restorations give amazing results.

Choosing Brentwood Smiles

Invisalign

invisalign dentistry dentist Brentwood Essex dentist

Invisalign a great alternative to braces

The Benefits of Straight Teeth

Straight teeth are not only more attractive but also healthier, contributing to better overall dental hygiene and health. Traditional orthodontic treatments often rely on metal brackets and wires to straighten teeth, which can be uncomfortable and visually unappealing. In contrast, the Invisalign® system offers a modern solution for achieving straight, beautiful smiles without the need for braces.

The Invisalign® System: A Modern Solution

Utilising a series of clear plastic aligners that are custom-designed to fit snugly over your teeth, these aligners are virtually invisible, making them a discreet option for those who may feel self-conscious about wearing traditional braces. One of the key advantages of this system is the level of comfort and flexibility it provides. Unlike metal braces, the smooth plastic aligners do not irritate your gums or cheeks.

Convenience and Flexibility

Moreover, the aligners are removable, allowing you to maintain your regular oral hygiene routine without any obstacles. You can take them out while eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, ensuring that your teeth and gums remain healthy throughout the treatment process. This convenience is a significant benefit for busy individuals who do not want their orthodontic treatment to interfere with their daily lives.

Gradual and Gentle Adjustment

The process of straightening your teeth with Invisalign® involves wearing each set of aligners for about two weeks before moving on to the next set. Each aligner is slightly different, gradually moving your teeth into the desired position over time. This incremental adjustment helps minimize discomfort and provides a more gentle approach to orthodontics.

Effective and Aesthetically Pleasing

Invisalign® is particularly suited for people who seek an effective and aesthetically pleasing way to correct misaligned teeth. Whether you have mild to moderate dental issues such as gaps, crowding, or bite problems, this innovative system can help you achieve a perfect smile. Additionally, the predictability of the treatment outcome, thanks to advanced 3D imaging technology, allows you to see the projected results before starting the treatment.

A Revolutionary Approach to Orthodontics

Overall, Invisalign® offers a revolutionary approach to orthodontics, providing a blend of effectiveness, convenience, and aesthetics. It is an ideal choice for individuals who desire straighter teeth without the discomfort and appearance of traditional metal braces. With Invisalign®, you can achieve the healthy, attractive smile you’ve always wanted with minimal disruption to your daily life.

Every patient is different, so we design a unique treatment path for everyone. We starts with a dental examination by our experienced Invisalign dentist. As well as a physical examination to assess the extent of the problem, we talk to you about what you hope to get from the treatment. Then together we review and agree on your Invisalign treatment plan that is best for you and only begin treatment when you are happy to proceed. Invisalign will then make a series of custom made aligners that will only fit you. Each aligner is slightly different, moving your teeth gradually into the desired position. You wear each aligner for two weeks, before moving on to the next in the series.

Treatment length varies according to the individual, but it is typically complete within nine to fifteen months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30 aligners. On average treatment times are around half as long as traditional fixed braces. Each aligner should be worn for 2 weeks at a time, before being replaced with the next aligner in the series. During the treatment our Invisalign® certified dentist will see you for a progress review and adjustment every four to six weeks and you will then receive your new aligners. Each aligner will move your teeth little by little, week by week, until they reach the desired position. Finally all that remains is for you to show off your beautiful new smile!

Additionally, we can also help if you are concerned about your child’s misaligned teeth. Their teeth can be straightened and aligned so that they will reach adulthood with great looking and properly functioning teeth!

  • Predictable treatment, as Invisalign ® is planned in advance, we can more accurately predict when your treatment will be finished.
  • Cosmetically superior to normal braces due to near invisibility of Invisalign braces. So, no more embarrassing metal wires.
  • No metal allergies due to brackets and wires.
  • Greater treatment visibility and easier planning with our treatment software.
  • Custom manufacture means a tailored match to your teeth, for reduced irritation and fewer scratches.
  • Invisalign is Removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment.
  • Brushing and Flossing your teeth are not a problem.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers

American comedian George Carlin once said, “Everyone smiles in the same language.” At Devonshire House Dental Practice, nestled in the heart of Brentwood, Essex, we couldn’t agree more. A captivating smile is a universal expression of joy and confidence, but we understand that not all our clients feel comfortable revealing their teeth. This is where our exquisite porcelain veneer treatment steps in, ensuring you make the finest first impression.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are delicate, thin layers of porcelain meticulously crafted to cover the front surface of your teeth. Each veneer is custom-made to fit your individual tooth enamel and is applied with precision by our expert dental team. The result is a seamlessly bonded veneer that delivers a flawlessly natural-looking smile.

Unveil the History of Porcelain Veneers

The fascinating history of porcelain veneers dates back to the glamour of old Hollywood. Max Factor, a pioneer in the world of cosmetics, played a pivotal role in their inception. In 1928, he collaborated with Californian dentist Charles Pincus to create a swift solution for granting Hollywood stars a radiant smile before stepping in front of the camera. This ingenious invention has since evolved into the sophisticated dental treatment we offer today.

Why Choose Porcelain for Your Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are renowned for their ability to mimic the natural appearance of teeth. Their translucency, similar to natural enamel, allows them to reflect light beautifully, creating an aesthetically pleasing smile. In addition to their visual appeal, porcelain veneers are highly durable and resistant to stains, ensuring that your smile remains bright and beautiful for years to come. Each veneer is meticulously colour-matched to your existing teeth, providing a harmonious and natural-looking enhancement.

Why Opt for Dental Veneers?

Our Essex clients choose bespoke dental veneers for a variety of reasons. Whether it’s to address discolouration, chipped teeth, misalignment, or gaps, veneers offer a transformative solution. Each veneer is tailored to meet your unique requirements, promising a result that not only enhances your appearance but also boosts your confidence.

The Veneer Treatment Process

The process of fitting porcelain veneers is straightforward and painless, designed to provide you with a comfortable experience. It begins with a comprehensive consultation, where our cosmetic dentist devises a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. During this initial consultation, we also take note of your natural tooth colour and shape to ensure that your veneers match seamlessly.

At your subsequent visit, your veneers are expertly shaped and affixed to your natural teeth. This involves minimal alteration to your existing teeth, preserving as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. Once the veneers are in place, you’ll be able to unveil a brighter, more confident smile. Often, just two to four porcelain veneers are sufficient to cover chipped front teeth, close gaps, or hide stains, providing you with a dazzling and durable new smile.

At Devonshire House Dental Practice, we are committed to excellence. That’s why we collaborate with the award-winning Knight Dental Design Laboratory. One Day Restorations

CEREC restorations Brentwood dentist emergency dentist restorations in Essex

One Day Restorations : Your Path to a Perfect Smile

At Brentwood Smiles in Essex, our friendly team knows how valuable CEREC®one day restorations is for creating perfect dental restorations that keep your smile looking great. Many people choose CEREC dental restorations for two main reasons: they can match the colour of their teeth and hide imperfections to improve their smile.

If you’re wanting a smile makeover in just one day – keep reading!

Our CEREC® machines allow our dentists to craft custom-made restorations, like dental crowns, on-site. This means there’s no need for multiple visits; the entire process is a same-day dental crown procedure that gets you in and out of the dentist’s chair in one afternoon. It’s perfect for people on the go who are short on time.

At Brentwood Smiles, we use CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) Primescan technology.  It’s the latest dental technology that uses CAD/CAM technology to craft your esthetic ceramic restoration of choice.

CEREC® Primescan is an extremely fast and highly accurate digital scanner. It scans the patients teeth without the discomfort of a conventional impression. Plus, the medical-grade PC, along with the CEREC® Primemill machine, ensures an incredibly precise process, creating smooth surfaces, perfect margins, and ultrafine structures.

Say goodbye to those unsightly metal crowns or the need for a temporary crown. CEREC® Primescan will create your perfect dental crown or restoration in minutes.

You can even watch your brand new smile being created in front of your eyes!

Our CEREC crown procedure works like this:

First, a small amount of your tooth’s natural enamel is gently removed.

Your dentist then takes a digital image and designs the new ceramic crown using computer aided manufacturing.

Your new crown is then sent to a machine in our dental laboratory to create your one day restorations.

The best part? You can have your restoration completed on the same day, eliminating the usual weeks of waiting associated with traditional methods like traditional dental crowns. The entire process is done on the day while you wait in our dental practice.

After a root canal treatment, a traditional crown requires a temporary crown to be fitted which you’ll wear until the new crown is ready. This usually means you’ll have to follow a strict diet avoiding a significant amount of hard foods.

CEREC crowns streamline the process, saving you from the inconvenience of a second visit to your dentist and eliminating damage to the surrounding teeth.

Instead of using uncomfortable and messy digital impression materials, CEREC uses a small, non-invasive camera to take digital impressions. This makes the process more comfortable and convenient for patients.

CEREC crowns not only enhance your smile but also preserve your natural teeth, ensuring you maintain a healthy and functional smile. Additionally, CEREC restorations are known for their precise fit and natural appearance, ensuring your teeth are properly aligned as they are crafted with the assistance of computer aided technology.

Everything is completed in a single day by your dentist, and your natural tooth structure remains intact.

CEREC can be utilised to create various dental solutions, including a permanent crown:

CEREC crowns: Unlike traditional crowns, there’s no need for multiple visits for CEREC crowns. With CEREC’s CAD/CAM technology and our in-house machine, your dentist can design, create and fit your crown in a single visit, ensuring a precise fit and a natural appearance. A temporary crown is no longer required!

CEREC inlays and onlays: If you have moderately damaged teeth, CEREC simplifies the process. Your dentist takes digital impressions, designs your restoration with CAD/CAM, and uses CEREC to craft inlays or onlays from ceramic materials, saving you time and providing a perfect fit.

CEREC bridges: Need a dental bridge? CEREC makes it more straightforward. Your dentist will design and manufacture bridges, ensuring a seamless fit, all in one appointment.

CEREC veneers: Enhance your smile with CEREC veneers.  Our CEREC machine fabricates them from porcelain or ceramic material, giving you a quick and natural-looking cosmetic solution without the need for multiple visits.

CEREC orthodontic appliances: For minor orthodontic adjustments, we use CEREC to create certain appliances like clear aligner trays or retainers, providing you with digital precision and faster solutions.

If you’re interested in any of these CEREC services, please feel free to ask your dentist about them during your next visit.

CEREC technology has transformed dentistry, bringing multiple benefits to both patients and dental professionals. This modern approach streamlines procedures, improves precision, and offers same-day treatment, making dental care more convenient and effective.

CEREC technology has transformed dentistry, bringing multiple benefits to both patients and dental professionals. This modern approach streamlines procedures, improves precision, and offers same-day treatment, making dental care more convenient and effective.

When deciding between a CEREC permanent crown and traditional crowns for your dental restoration, it can be a challenging choice without a clear understanding of the differences. Let’s explore if a CEREC crown outshines traditional ones.

Traditional dental crowns come in different materials, including stainless steel, metal alloys and metal core with high gold or platinum content, porcelain-fused-to-metal, and all-resin. These crowns, crafted in expert dental laboratories, offer an attractive combination of affordability, intricate detailing, and durability. They tend to be resilient against damage and are more than likely eligible for coverage by dental insurance plans.

But, they require multiple appointments, which can be inconvenient and costly for adjustments. Wearing a large temporary crown can also be uncomfortable.

CEREC crowns in contrast, use advanced technology to simplify the restoration process. These crowns are crafted within minutes, using computerised technology to carve them from a single block of porcelain –  eliminating the need for other various materials.

CEREC crowns use modern scanning techniques, eliminating the need for an uncomfortable dental impression. Handheld scanners create contact-free impressions, providing a comfortable experience. The process is remarkably fast, with your crown ready to be placed within hours, custom-made to fit perfectly, and no need for a temporary crown.

However, if you look really closely, you might see that CEREC crowns don’t have the same level of fine detail as traditional crowns made by experts, which can appear just like your other teeth.

Additionally, CEREC crowns have limitations; in cases of severe tooth damage, a traditional crown may be necessary. While CEREC crowns are generally durable due to their all-porcelain construction, they may be slightly less robust than traditional crowns.

.

Here are some reasons you might need CEREC crowns or restorations:

Tooth decay: CEREC restorations, like tooth fillings, fix cavities that are caused by harmful mouth bacteria that eat away at tooth enamel.

Chipped tooth or broken teeth: CEREC crowns, inlays, and onlays repair a damaged tooth or teeth caused by accidents or biting hard objects.

Tooth fractures: CEREC restorations stabilise and protect a cracked tooth or teeth caused by grinding, injuries, or ageing.

Missing teeth/tooth: CEREC bridges or implants fill gaps left by a removed/broken tooth or teeth, improving both looks and chewing ability.

Worn-down teeth: CEREC crowns rebuild a worn-down tooth or teeth from grinding, acidic foods, or harsh brushing.

Cosmetic enhancements: Procedures like CEREC veneers improve tooth appearance, covering tooth stains or minor tooth misalignments.

Root canals treatment: When a tooth’s inner tissue is infected, root canal therapy removes it and restores the tooth with a CEREC crown – maintaining a healthy tooth structure.

Replacing old fillings: Old silver fillings can damage teeth over time; replacing them with tooth-coloured fillings helps maintain oral health.

Alignment and bite issues: Restorations like a dental crown, bridges, or veneers can be part of orthodontic treatment to fix bite and alignment problems.

CEREC streamlines the entire dental crown process, from the first impression to the final restoration, giving you a quick and stress-free experience.

Say goodbye to the hassles of having a traditional dental impression made.

The cost varies based on location, restoration complexity, and other factors.

Considering the additional expenses and time involved in multiple dentist visits for traditional crowns, CEREC crowns may prove to be a more cost-effective choice in the long run, depending on your specific case.

Many of our patients find that the convenience and benefits of CEREC are well worth the investment.

Ultimately, the decision between CEREC crowns and traditional crowns should align with your unique dental needs and preferences. Consult your dentist for a personalised estimate.

We like to think we’re different from other dental clinics. We like to ensure our patients receive the best dental work – because our dentists genuinely care about your smile and your confidence.  We offer the latest computer assisted technology, affordable dental care and our talented team has over 30 years of experience.

To make the most of your CEREC restorations or Cerec crowns, our dentists recommend regular dental check-ups and sticking to good oral hygiene are highly recommended.

By following these simple steps, your dentist at Brentwood Smiles can spot any dental problems with your dental crowns early and sort them out quickly, so you can keep on smiling brightly.

With consistent use and proper maintenance, our whitening solutions can deliver long-lasting results, rejuvenating your smile and boosting your confidence with beautiful white natural teeth.

New Year, New Smile

Dental Implants

Implants

A dental implant is an artificial substitute/replacement for the root portion of your natural tooth and is anchored into a pre-drilled socket in your jaw-bone to support a crown, bridge or secure a denture firmly in place. Implants are made from titanium, a material that is well tolerated by bone and integrates easily with bone tissue. During the placement of a dental implant, the implant and the surrounding bone tissue “fuse” together, creating a stable support for the new teeth.

As the closest replacement for natural teeth available, implants provide excellent function as well as appearance. The implant is placed during a brief operation usually requiring only local anaesthetic. Teeth implants are an ideal option for non-smoking patients in good general health, who have good oral hygiene.

People lose teeth all the time, either through trauma (when teeth are knocked out) or due to decay, gum disease or age. Whatever the reason for losing your teeth, they need to be replaced, both for aesthetic and functional reasons. Dental implants are one of the most popular treatment to replace missing teeth, as they provide a longer-term solution, slow down bone loss and preserve nearby healthy tooth tissue.

Traditionally, an implant placed into your bone supports a single crown and this is know as a “single tooth implant”. However, if you have several missing teeth, you do not necessarily need an implant for every missing tooth: two implants can support several teeth via a bridge or denture. The number of implants required depends on the volume and density of bone tissue available at each implant site.

In the case of full-mouth reconstructions, where an arch of several teeth (10+) needs to be supported in either the upper or lower jaw, a minimum of five to six implants in each jaw would be required. The exact number of implants needed would depend on the individual case and we would be able to advise you on the best solution after a thorough examination and assessment.

Dental implants have been used for over 30 years to replace missing teeth and they can last a lifetime depending on how well you look after them. Like any other restoration, your implant-supported teeth can still be damaged by trauma and affected by gum disease and poor oral hygiene.

We use one of the leading Implant systems with a proven track record creating excellent results and long term stability. This ensures best possible outcome for you.
Dr.Mohammadi is committed to regular postgraduate training in this field to keep up to date in this ever advancing field of modern dentistry.

The Procedure

The procedure for dental implants involves several key steps to ensure optimal results and a lasting, natural-looking smile. Initially, a comprehensive examination and consultation are conducted to assess your oral health and create a personalised treatment plan. During the first phase of the procedure, the dentist surgically places a titanium post into the jawbone, serving as a sturdy foundation for the implant. This post will integrate with the bone over a few months through a process called osseointegration, providing a stable base for the artificial tooth. Once the post has fully integrated, an abutment is attached to it, which will hold the custom-made crown securely in place. The crown is carefully designed to match your natural teeth in colour, shape, and size, ensuring a seamless blend with your smile. The entire dental implant process requires precision and care, ultimately delivering a durable and aesthetically pleasing solution for missing teeth.

Our smile can say so much about us. It can be the first thing other people notice and often sends the message that we’re happy and confident in our skins.

The internet is chock-a-block with celebrity quotes about how lovely or important our smiles are, or how others can be lifted up emotionally by seeing them on people’s faces.

That’s because the human smile can convey so much information, it suggests the wearer is friendly and can be trusted, is pleased to see you and wants to interact.

There’s so much more to this simple gesture than meets the eye. But what about people whose smile isn’t something they’re keen to put on display?

A sports fan with chipped and cracked teeth, a red wine lover whose teeth have become discoloured, or someone struggling with crooked teeth could all be shy of showing off their smile. Help is at hand!

Devonshire House Dental Practice specialises in smile makeovers, offering a range of procedures to give you a straight, white smile that will change your life.

What issues can smile makeovers solve?

As dental experts, we understand the importance of having good oral health, but we also know that, sometimes, life gets in the way.

Not everyone is born with perfectly aligned teeth, but there are lots of other dental issues that could result in a less-than perfect smile.

Let’s take a look at some of the problems that can be resolved with our smile makeovers.

New Year, New Smile

Gaps and missing teeth

From accidental slips and trips to the worst effects of tooth decay, there can be many reasons why you have gaps in your smile or missing teeth.

Whatever the reason, for many people it can make them reluctant to show off a cheesy grin. Our full smile makeover will replace missing teeth and boost their confidence.

No matter what oral health issue you have, there’s a cosmetic dental treatment available that can give you a brand new smile to be proud of.

Let’s take a closer look at the range of cosmetic dentistry solutions available.

Many of our patients looking for a smile makeover have perfectly healthy mouths, but come to us for teeth straightening. There are two main ways dental work can achieve this.

Many children visit the dentist to have braces fitted that will straighten their upper and lower teeth while they are young, but lots of adults opt for this dental treatment too. It is a tried-and-tested method of achieving the perfect smile and healthy, natural teeth, although how long the braces are worn varies from patient to patient.

If you prefer not to use the traditional wires and brackets dental treatment for your smile makeover, our dentist clinic offers Invisalign clear plastic aligners. This orthodontic treatment gradually moves misaligned teeth into the correct or preferred position, boosting your smile and your dental health. The biggest advantage of Invisalign is, unlike fixed braces, it can be removed while eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth.

An increasingly popular option for people looking for a bespoke smile makeover, porcelain veneers can help with a range of oral health issues, including:

  • discoloured or stained teeth
  • covering a chipped tooth
  • misaligned teeth
  • worn/uneven teeth
  • closing small gaps

This painless procedure involves creating and fitting natural-looking porcelain veneers on top of your existing teeth, instantly giving you your ideal smile. Find out more here.

In some cases, composite bonding, also known as cosmetic bonding, can help mask small imperfections such as stains or chips. This form of dental care uses composite resin to fill in or cover over minor flaws. Interestingly, it can be used as a follow-up to other treatments, such as camouflaging small gaps after wearing braces.

Having broken teeth or gaps in your smile can negatively affect your confidence and may even affect your oral health. Crowns and bridges are commonly used cosmetic dental treatments that can fix both issues.

A dental crown is a cap that sits on top of your existing natural teeth and covers the entire outer surface. They’re the ideal way to protect a damaged, cracked or broken tooth and are another tried-and-tested method of achieving a full smile makeover. Our dentist can replace old crowns as well as fit new ones.

This form of cosmetic dentistry is a set of artificial teeth that bridge the gap between one or more missing teeth, and are anchored to neighbouring teeth with crowns. Find out more about both here.

If you have chipped teeth or old, silver amalgam fillings that prevent you from unleashing your full smile, our dentist clinic offers CEREC restorations.

This technology enables our cosmetic dentist to design, make and fit a new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay in a single visit, giving you a full smile makeover in one day. Get all the information here.

One of the most commonly requested cosmetic dental treatments, teeth whitening can quickly and easily turn discoloured teeth into a brighter, whiter smile.

At Devonshire House Dental Practice, we are specialists in teeth whitening using Philips’ Zoom WhiteSpeed technology, which can whiten your teeth by up to six shades to your desired colour in a single hour.

People lose their natural teeth for a number of reasons: sometimes it’s an accident, other times there are underlying oral health issues. But it doesn’t mean a dentist can’t offer treatment options to restore your smile.

Dental implants are a popular, longer-term treatment, giving people a full smile makeover, while also slowing down bone loss and preserving nearby healthy tooth tissue.

How our smile makeover process works

Whatever your reason for seeking a full smile makeover, Dr Aria Mohammadi at Devonshire House Dental Practice can help.

The initial assessment

Before beginning treatment for your smile makeover, you’ll have a dental care examination. If this evaluation reveals an underlying oral health problem, that may need to be taken care of before your smile makeover.

Once your oral health is established, we examine and review the shape, colour, size and alignment of your teeth, as well as their underlying support structure, to determine candidacy for a smile makeover.

This comprehensive evaluation also covers several dental care attributes, including:

Tooth length

Longer teeth can make us look younger and, in some patients, have a slimming effect on the face. However, daily wear and tear can lead to them being worn down.

After the initial consultation, possible treatments could include lengthening and reshaping your two front natural teeth using composite bonding or porcelain veneers.

Smile line

Imagine a line that follows the edges of your upper teeth from side to side: it should be the same as the curve of your lower lip when you smile.

This is your smile line, and the standard point of reference used by dentists carrying out cosmetic procedures as part of a smile makeover treatment plan to determine how long your new teeth should be.

Tooth proportions

During the initial consultation, our cosmetic dentist will examine your teeth to assess whether they are all in proportion. What is regarded as a ‘pleasant’ smile consists of two dominant central front teeth with a 4-to-5 width-to-length ratio.

This proportion then guides the length and width of other pearlies in what is known as ‘the aesthetic zone’, so the smile line looks balanced in your final new smile design.

Did you know we can design and make your crowns or final veneers for smile makeovers to give them a feminine or a more masculine appearance, as well as matching the look and feel of natural teeth.

Our range of dental care technologies enable us to create a smile design that looks completely natural and makes you feel a million dollars.

Consultation and wax modelling

At the end of the initial assessment, Dr Mohammadi will recommend the cosmetic dental treatment he thinks will be best suited to give you a new smile, whether that’s teeth whitening, dental veneers, dental implants, clear braces, bridges or crowns.

We will then create wax models so you can get an idea of the smile makeover end result and have your say. At this stage, our cosmetic dentist will talk through the wax model and all your cosmetic dentistry treatment options, ensuring the next steps all meet your particular needs.

Treatment plans and appointments

Once decided, you’ll be given a written version of your cosmetic dentistry treatment plan that will lay out the timing, sequence and cost of the treatments.

We will then create a schedule for each phase of your smile makeover enabling each treatment to be carried out in a timely fashion.

A temporary smile template

If your smile makeover treatment includes veneers, our cosmetic dentist will take teeth impressions to create temporary 3D templates. These models help ensure the veneers look and feel right, before the final veneers are bonded to your natural teeth.

Your ‘trial smile’

The next phase of the treatment plan sees the 3D template used to precisely prepare and shape your new pearlies, while provisional temporary teeth are immediately fitted.

This ‘trial smile’ gives you a chance to test-run your new smile, figure out if you want any changes and get your loved ones’ opinions on your temporary teeth, before it becomes a permanent smile makeover.

Your final, new smile

Only when you’re 100% happy with this trial smile will our dental laboratory complete the manufacture of your porcelain veneers or crowns.

Handcrafted from the highest quality materials using the latest dental technologies by our highly experienced technician, they will have the shape, detail and texture of natural healthy teeth, as well as feature your desired colour and characteristics.
