Change your life with a smile makeover
Our smile can say so much about us. It can be the first thing other people notice and often sends the message that we’re happy and confident in our skins.
The internet is chock-a-block with celebrity quotes about how lovely or important our smiles are, or how others can be lifted up emotionally by seeing them on people’s faces.
That’s because the human smile can convey so much information, it suggests the wearer is friendly and can be trusted, is pleased to see you and wants to interact.
There’s so much more to this simple gesture than meets the eye. But what about people whose smile isn’t something they’re keen to put on display?
A sports fan with chipped and cracked teeth, a red wine lover whose teeth have become discoloured, or someone struggling with crooked teeth could all be shy of showing off their smile. Help is at hand!
Devonshire House Dental Practice specialises in smile makeovers, offering a range of procedures to give you a straight, white smile that will change your life.
What issues can smile makeovers solve?
As dental experts, we understand the importance of having good oral health, but we also know that, sometimes, life gets in the way.
Not everyone is born with perfectly aligned teeth, but there are lots of other dental issues that could result in a less-than perfect smile.
Let’s take a look at some of the problems that can be resolved with our smile makeovers.
Gaps and missing teeth
From accidental slips and trips to the worst effects of tooth decay, there can be many reasons why you have gaps in your smile or missing teeth.
Whatever the reason, for many people it can make them reluctant to show off a cheesy grin. Our full smile makeover will replace missing teeth and boost their confidence.
No matter what oral health issue you have, there’s a cosmetic dental treatment available that can give you a brand new smile to be proud of.
Let’s take a closer look at the range of cosmetic dentistry solutions available.
Many of our patients looking for a smile makeover have perfectly healthy mouths, but come to us for teeth straightening. There are two main ways dental work can achieve this.
Many children visit the dentist to have braces fitted that will straighten their upper and lower teeth while they are young, but lots of adults opt for this dental treatment too. It is a tried-and-tested method of achieving the perfect smile and healthy, natural teeth, although how long the braces are worn varies from patient to patient.
If you prefer not to use the traditional wires and brackets dental treatment for your smile makeover, our dentist clinic offers Invisalign clear plastic aligners. This orthodontic treatment gradually moves misaligned teeth into the correct or preferred position, boosting your smile and your dental health. The biggest advantage of Invisalign is, unlike fixed braces, it can be removed while eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth.
An increasingly popular option for people looking for a bespoke smile makeover, porcelain veneers can help with a range of oral health issues, including:
- discoloured or stained teeth
- covering a chipped tooth
- misaligned teeth
- worn/uneven teeth
- closing small gaps
This painless procedure involves creating and fitting natural-looking porcelain veneers on top of your existing teeth, instantly giving you your ideal smile. Find out more here.
In some cases, composite bonding, also known as cosmetic bonding, can help mask small imperfections such as stains or chips. This form of dental care uses composite resin to fill in or cover over minor flaws. Interestingly, it can be used as a follow-up to other treatments, such as camouflaging small gaps after wearing braces.
Having broken teeth or gaps in your smile can negatively affect your confidence and may even affect your oral health. Crowns and bridges are commonly used cosmetic dental treatments that can fix both issues.
A dental crown is a cap that sits on top of your existing natural teeth and covers the entire outer surface. They’re the ideal way to protect a damaged, cracked or broken tooth and are another tried-and-tested method of achieving a full smile makeover. Our dentist can replace old crowns as well as fit new ones.
This form of cosmetic dentistry is a set of artificial teeth that bridge the gap between one or more missing teeth, and are anchored to neighbouring teeth with crowns. Find out more about both here.
If you have chipped teeth or old, silver amalgam fillings that prevent you from unleashing your full smile, our dentist clinic offers CEREC restorations.
This technology enables our cosmetic dentist to design, make and fit a new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay in a single visit, giving you a full smile makeover in one day. Get all the information here.
One of the most commonly requested cosmetic dental treatments, teeth whitening can quickly and easily turn discoloured teeth into a brighter, whiter smile.
At Devonshire House Dental Practice, we are specialists in teeth whitening using Philips’ Zoom WhiteSpeed technology, which can whiten your teeth by up to six shades to your desired colour in a single hour.

People lose their natural teeth for a number of reasons: sometimes it’s an accident, other times there are underlying oral health issues. But it doesn’t mean a dentist can’t offer treatment options to restore your smile.
Dental implants are a popular, longer-term treatment, giving people a full smile makeover, while also slowing down bone loss and preserving nearby healthy tooth tissue.

How our smile makeover process works
Whatever your reason for seeking a full smile makeover, Dr Aria Mohammadi at Devonshire House Dental Practice can help.
The initial assessment
Before beginning treatment for your smile makeover, you’ll have a dental care examination. If this evaluation reveals an underlying oral health problem, that may need to be taken care of before your smile makeover.
Once your oral health is established, we examine and review the shape, colour, size and alignment of your teeth, as well as their underlying support structure, to determine candidacy for a smile makeover.
This comprehensive evaluation also covers several dental care attributes, including:
Tooth length
Longer teeth can make us look younger and, in some patients, have a slimming effect on the face. However, daily wear and tear can lead to them being worn down.
After the initial consultation, possible treatments could include lengthening and reshaping your two front natural teeth using composite bonding or porcelain veneers.
Smile line
Imagine a line that follows the edges of your upper teeth from side to side: it should be the same as the curve of your lower lip when you smile.
This is your smile line, and the standard point of reference used by dentists carrying out cosmetic procedures as part of a smile makeover treatment plan to determine how long your new teeth should be.
Tooth proportions
During the initial consultation, our cosmetic dentist will examine your teeth to assess whether they are all in proportion. What is regarded as a ‘pleasant’ smile consists of two dominant central front teeth with a 4-to-5 width-to-length ratio.
This proportion then guides the length and width of other pearlies in what is known as ‘the aesthetic zone’, so the smile line looks balanced in your final new smile design.

Did you know we can design and make your crowns or final veneers for smile makeovers to give them a feminine or a more masculine appearance, as well as matching the look and feel of natural teeth.
Our range of dental care technologies enable us to create a smile design that looks completely natural and makes you feel a million dollars.
Consultation and wax modelling
At the end of the initial assessment, Dr Mohammadi will recommend the cosmetic dental treatment he thinks will be best suited to give you a new smile, whether that’s teeth whitening, dental veneers, dental implants, clear braces, bridges or crowns.
We will then create wax models so you can get an idea of the smile makeover end result and have your say. At this stage, our cosmetic dentist will talk through the wax model and all your cosmetic dentistry treatment options, ensuring the next steps all meet your particular needs.
Treatment plans and appointments
Once decided, you’ll be given a written version of your cosmetic dentistry treatment plan that will lay out the timing, sequence and cost of the treatments.
We will then create a schedule for each phase of your smile makeover enabling each treatment to be carried out in a timely fashion.
A temporary smile template
If your smile makeover treatment includes veneers, our cosmetic dentist will take teeth impressions to create temporary 3D templates. These models help ensure the veneers look and feel right, before the final veneers are bonded to your natural teeth.
Your ‘trial smile’
The next phase of the treatment plan sees the 3D template used to precisely prepare and shape your new pearlies, while provisional temporary teeth are immediately fitted.
This ‘trial smile’ gives you a chance to test-run your new smile, figure out if you want any changes and get your loved ones’ opinions on your temporary teeth, before it becomes a permanent smile makeover.
Your final, new smile
Only when you’re 100% happy with this trial smile will our dental laboratory complete the manufacture of your porcelain veneers or crowns.
Handcrafted from the highest quality materials using the latest dental technologies by our highly experienced technician, they will have the shape, detail and texture of natural healthy teeth, as well as feature your desired colour and characteristics.
